Takedowns From Arm Drag - Apex NoGi

The 'leg wrap takedown' begins with an arm drag, allowing the practitioner to control an opponent's arm and expose their near side leg, which is then wrapped and used to off-balance and take the opponent down. Alternatively, the 'far side ankle pick' involves using the arm drag to make the opponent step back with the near side leg creating an opening to reach for the far ankle, catching the opponent off-guard and taking them down to the side. Another option is to simply pull the opponent to the ground from the arm drag. Leg between opponents legs go to back. If your leg is not in between your opponents legs, hold leg and stand up Lastly, if the opponent reacts to the arm drag by posting their arm on the practitioner's shoulder, throw arms up and transition into a 'double leg takedown' with head in chest. Each technique demonstrates BJJ's focus on leverage, timing, and the ability to adapt to an opponent's reactions.
