Split Guard - NoGi

The Split Guard is a versatile and dynamic position in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), offering numerous submission opportunities, including the short arm lock and the roll over arm to armbar. To execute the short arm lock from Split Guard, the practitioner isolates the opponent's hand, securing it tightly in the armpit with the hand on the outside of your knee. The practitioner then applies pressure by squeezing their knee down on the arm, to hyperextend the opponent's elbow. In the roll over arm to armbar, the practitioner traps the opponent's arm similar to the short arm lock setup. Instead of applying pressure directly, the practitioner shifts their hips to one side, swinging their legs to create momentum to roll over the arm to a belly down armbar or continue rolling to a back down armbar. (Grab opponents' leg for control.)
